Welcome to Old Town Kids!

Children’s Ministry at Old Town Community Church

Old Town Kids is our children’s ministry for children age 0 through 5th grade — and their families! Here, children learn about Jesus and grow in faith while developing meaningful relationships with peers and teachers. There’s something for everyone! From Sunday mornings to mid-week and weekend activities, all families are invited to get connected and be a part of the Old Town Kids community!

On Sunday mornings we have classes for children ages 0 through 5th grade. The classes are designed to meet children where they are developmentally and spiritually. Children will learn more about God and the Bible through hands-on lessons taught by dedicated teachers. Class time includes lots of play, conversation, and special activities relating to the lesson, like crafts and games.

We believe that Church goes beyond our walls and Sunday mornings and into our everyday lives. Here at Old Town Kids we want to support your families as you learn and grow together at home.

  • Weekly video children’s messages that air during our Sunday morning services and are available to stream anytime on our Old Town Kids YouTube channel.
  • The at-home lesson guide parallels what children are learning in our classrooms and are flexible: doing church from home this week? Consider grabbing the guide and walking through today’s lesson with your child.
  • We also provide additional resources for your family to use at home during special seasons of the Church calendar, like Advent and Lent.

We believe ministry goes beyond Sunday mornings and beyond the walls of our church building. From fall adventures and Easter egg hunts to gathering in local parks and opportunities to serve our community, you’ll find the families of Old Town Kids getting together to grow in relationships with one another. Join us! Learn more about upcoming events by signing up for our Old Town Kids email list.

Caring for kids includes caring for the people raising them! Feel supported as a caregiver and connect with other adults through table groups, family events, and our Old Town Kids Facebook group. Contact Sarah to learn more.

Coming Up in Old Town Kids

The Living Bible Museum, a children's ministry series at OTCC

The Living Bible Museum

All through the month of September, the kids of OTCC are gearing up for the Living Bible Museum! This is a special tradition in our children’s ministry, during which our Sunday morning curriculum focuses on the ways that God made each one of us unique and special, and then kids get the chance to choose a Bible character to learn about. The Living Bible Museum culminates with Bibles and Burgers on October 1, where our whole church community is invited to a lunch where they can “tour” the Living Bible Museum, and the kids get to teach the adults!

Joining us for the first time during the Living Bible Museum? Wonderful! Our structure is set up to welcome new students and help them jump right into this fun without feeling “behind.”

Pumpkins at the Playground, a children's ministry event for families

Pumpkins at the Playground

Our big fall event is “Pumpkins at the Playground,” where kids and their families can decorate pumpkins, enjoy food and play, and spend time together. This event is free and open to the community. We are able to do this because of the help of awesome volunteers. If you’d be interested in serving at this event, please stay tuned as we’ll be releasing more information soon!

Video Children’s Messages

Each Sunday our worship service includes a message made just for kids! We play these videos in our children’s ministry classes and are also available to stream anytime on our Old Town Kids YouTube channel. Our children’s messages correspond with the content children are learning in person in our classrooms as well as the lessons families are invited to use while worshiping from home.
