ALIVE! Food Distributions | 3rd Fridays at 11:00 a.m.
Alive! stands for Alexandrians Involved Ecumenically and one of the many ways they support Alexandrians is by providing food to people who need it. We host a pop-up food distribution, with food provided by Alive!, on the 3rd Friday of each month. The exact food fluctuates, but we often are able to distribute chicken, produce boxes, eggs, bread, and more.
Volunteers are needed to arrive by 10:45 a.m. People who need food are welcome to come at 11:00 a.m. which is when we begin. Food is distributed until everything has been given away, which is usually around 1:00 p.m.
Fall Dates: 10/15, 11/19, 12/17
Open Table | Every Wednesday at 6:00 a.m.
We are currently serving bagged breakfasts and lunch to go from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. Volunteers are welcome to help distribute food and coffee on Wednesdays and to prepare sandwiches to be dropped off a the church on Tuesdays. E-mail Brian at email@example.com to volunteer or to learn more.
Carpenter’s Shelter | 2nd Saturdays
OTCC volunteers provide dinner for Carpenter’s Shelter residents on the second Saturday of each month. This is a great volunteering opportunity for Bible study groups, table groups, families, or neighbors to serve together. October is still open for you to claim! You will be contacted a week ahead of time with all of the necessary details.
Due to Covid-19, volunteers can either drop off dinner or stay and serve it. Dinner needs to be delivered by 5:30 pm and serving starts at 6 pm. Dinner can be prepared at the shelter in their new kitchen, or if you prefer to prepare at home and deliver, that’s an option, too.
