ALIVE! Food Distributions | 3rd Fridays at 11:00 a.m.
Alive! stands for Alexandrians Involved Ecumenically and one of the many ways they support Alexandrians is by providing food to people who need it. We host a pop-up food distribution, with food provided by Alive!, on the 3rd Friday of each month. The exact food fluctuates, but we often are able to distribute chicken, produce boxes, eggs, bread, and more.
Volunteers are needed to arrive by 10:00 a.m. People who need food are welcome to come at 10:30 a.m. which is when we begin. Food is distributed until everything has been given away, which is usually around 12:30 p.m.
Open Table | Every Wednesday at 6:00 a.m.
We serve hot breakfast and lunch to go to anyone who needs it from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. on Wednesdays in our Fellowship Hall. Volunteers are welcome to help prepare and serve on Wednesdays between 5:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. E-mail Brian at firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer or to learn more.
Carpenter’s Shelter | 2nd Saturdays
OTCC volunteers provide dinner for Carpenter’s Shelter residents on the second Saturday of each month. This is a great volunteering opportunity for Bible study groups, table groups, families, or neighbors to serve together.
The time commitment is from 5:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. Food can be prepared at the shelter in their new kitchen, at home and brought in, or picked up from somewhere and brought in to serve. Roughly 50 people will be served.
